The New Orleans Firefighters Look Hot 2008 Calendar will be available for purchase Wednesday! Girls, wouldn’t you like one for Christmas? Indulge - You know you want one!
All proceeds from the calendar go to buy uniforms for New Orleans’ bravest. The cool thing about our firefighters calendar is that the pix capture them in action poses with equipment such as ladders, the jaws of life and firetrucks. Over 80% of New Orleans Firefighters lost their homes and possessions in Hurricane Katrina and not one man/woman deserted this city during that catastrophic event. Many of the Firehouses were damaged during the storm and, 2 years later, firefighters are still working out of Fema trailers even while 9 million dollars dedicated by Fema to repair the houses remains tied up in city politics. Firefighting equipment and household items lost or damaged have been replaced by the firefighters themselves and private donations. Since November 2006, the New Orleans Rotary Foundation has been working with District Chief Tim McConnell to raise over $12,000 to outfit each fire station’s kitchen as it is restored.
