My neighborhood library in Algiers is STILL operating out of a trailer. Pre-Katrina it was a vital and flourishing library. Before I bought my Dell, I used the computers at this branch and checked out videos rather than pay for them at Blockbuster or whatever. I Strongly believe in the library concept as an important contribution to the community.

Back in the day, when I was a child in rural Mississippi, the book mobile was an exciting and welcome institution. Studying at the public library in high school was a weekly routine.

The library is an important institution in American culture….especially for the under-privileged.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY. SUPPORT THE CHILDREN OF YOUR COMMUNITY. SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION.

**PS - 10:55 pm—I just ordered my copy from Amazon. Order yours now - support NoLA’s libraries.

Thanks for the heads up on this! I am going to go buy Lyn’s book ASAP!!

P.S.–Will you be able to make it Sat. night at Rock and Bowl?

Whassup at Rock ‘n Bowl? I’m outa the loop……….

Ms. Manitoba bought two copies and gave me one as a gift. I have to admit that I didn’t give it a glowing review, but I was honest and I did say that I thought people should either buy it or just send a cheque directly to NOLA public libraries.

Well everyone has different tastes….that’s what makes the world go round.
Your heart is in the right place to have bought it to help the libraries. Thanks!
