There’s not too much fear in either camp of reprisals for their neglect of New Orleans. After all, where are we going to go? A vote for McCain is a vote for another hundred years of war, so it’ll be sometime next century before there will be money to help the region. A vote for Romney is only helpful if you want to see an all-white, all-wealthy New Orleans that hosts large sports events on the bulldozed land formerly owned by black people. (on a side note, that’s one of the reasons that all of you who hate the other candidate so much you’re staying things like you’ll vote for McCain can kiss my fat white butt. Before you go into the booth and vote Republican, I want you to visualize yourself telling the owner of a house that was washed away by the Federal Flood that the Democrat running is somehow worse than McCain.) ~~~Yatpundit’s post “Who Will Take Ownership of New Orleans?” Jan 31, 2008

4. I have been trying to head out to the Possum Ranch to see my friend the Dead Possum. But I was wondering, what ever happened to the O in possum. Was the O laid off? Fired? Is the O now in a homeless shelter? Is the O laying in a gutter drunk and dejected? Perhaps the O can hang out with the big O.
The big O always has a good time. Or perhaps the O in possum can meet with the silent H and become Oh.

NoLA’s on the Rise and when it’s risen, will you ask yourself if you were part of the recovery? I hope that you will ask yourself that and that you’ll be able to say that you were. Life is too short to go on moping. It’s time to BOOT UP and move on.

“Someone knows who did this.
Probably several someones.
Repost this bulletin.
Plaster it everywhere.
Sooner or later, someone will make the call and the rat bastards that robbed Jeanette & her child of this man will get caught.
Chris Roberts, you set the bar high.
I hope we live up to it.”

I am not perfect, I lose my temper with people on occasion. It has become a sign of our times, unfortunately, and often it’s the only way to be heard. But I refuse to march another human being off to my mental gulag because they disagree with me politically. To me, social walls are meant to be challenged, and I just kicked this fucker down.
